As we all know Twitter is one of the big social networking things that are happening online at the moment and there are ways to make money off Twitter even though Twitter themselves have not implemented away yet of capitalizing off their big success on the Internet.

There are some Entrepreneurs and businesses out there that are hopping onto the Twitter money making band wagon and are implementing software applications that integrate into Twitter and use its vast membership and internet reach to make twitter a place where one can make money from.

In-Stream Advertising on Twitter

Im sure who ever reads this post has a Twitter account and is actively involved on twitter and if you have quite a big Twitter following then you can use this to your advantage and make some extra money from In-Stream Advertising.
So what is In-Stream Advertising well its when an advertiser asks you to accept a Advertised Tweet on their behalf and that Ad will be displayed has a Tweet to your followers under your Twitter profile and you will get paid money for showing that Ad from the sponsor.

There are currently two In-Stream Advertising websites that I know of and I’m sure more will pop up over time.

Ad.ly

The first one that I have joined up to is called Ad.ly they are new but have gained a big following and they also have some famous celebrities that are using them and there are two ways you can make money from Ad.ly and that is first through sponsored tweets and also through their referral programs. You can request payment through PayPal, Check or if you want you can donate your money to charity.

Sponsored Tweets

The second In-Stream Advertising network is Sponsored Tweets which has been around longer than Ad.ly. I have not joined up to Sponsored Tweets but it does sound like they offer a similar experience to what Ad.ly offers.
I will do a future follow-up post on how well I’m making money off of  SponsoredTweets.

Role-playing Game Apps

Just like on Facebook and MySpace you are having a lot of game applications that are already present on these social networking sites, well a new group called Lolplaying, have introduced a new role-playing game on Twitter called 140 Mafia, they are trying to explore Twitter’s moneymaking potential with an idea of introducing a Super Rewards system, a “virtual currency” service that already has been showing positive results in the online gaming sector. This game could be big on Twitter
